Another one of Prabha's great recipes. This is a dry Kitcheri that is light and tasty. The tamarind gives it a tangy and slightly sweet flavor plus tamarind supports digestive enyzmes.

- green chilly chopped.........................1/4 tsp
- spice mix...........................................1 tsp
- Cooling Soma Salt..........................1/2 tsp
- ghee or olive oil..................................2 tsp
Instructions:
- Rinse the first 3 items and set aside.
- In a medium pot, heat the ghee or oil.
- Add ginger, curry leaves and chilly.
- Fry for a few minutes.
- Add the tamarind pieces, soma salt and spice mix.
- Fry all together for a few more minutes.
- Add the 3 washed grains and enough water to cover the grains.
- Bring to a boil. Reduce and simmer for 10 minutes.
- All the water should be absorbed and grains all cook through.
- Discard the black tamarind seeds as you have the food.
- You may also try with some fried panch foran, paneer, cashews, or any hard veggies.
- Saute them first and then add the 3 grains with water and cook.
Enjoy!
