Masoor dal is a red lentil that cooks very fast This recipe by Prabha is easy and delicious.
Ingredients:
- Red Masoor Daal.............................1/2 cup
- Ghee.................................................2 tbs
- chopped curry leaves........................1 tbs
- Chopped ginger................................1 tbs
- Cracked cumin seeds........................1 tsp
- Cilantro stem chopped......................1 tsp
- Cilantro chopped............................. 1/4 cup
- turmeric.............................................1/4 tsp
- Cooling Soma Salt......................... 1/2 tsp or to taste
Instructions:
- In a medium saucepan add the washed daal, salt, turmeric and 2 cups of water, bring to a boil, reduce the heat, continue boiling for about 12 minutes.
- In a small frying pan heat the ghee, add cumin, ginger, curry leaves and cilantro stem.
- Fry until light brown. After the 12 minutes cooking the daal, pour this mixture over the daal, add the chopped cilantro, cook for few more minutes.
- If the daal has too much water boil to thicken, too less water add few tbs of water according to your preference. Daal should be thick and soupy.
